Special tax break for charitable donations packs extra incentive for giving

If you do not typically itemize deductions, Pandemic Relief in Congress created a special but temporary break for giving money to a qualified charity that applies to people who do not itemize.

A married couple taking the standard deduction is allowed to claim up to $600 for cash contributions made to qualifying charities in 2021, if filing a joint return. It’s a temporary break, which is set to expire on Jan. 1.

A single individual, including married individuals filing separate returns, can claim a deduction of up to $300 for cash contributions.

That tax break might even make you more willing to tell some close friends that instead of gifts this year, you’d like them to give money directly to New Hope Church.

“A deduction of $300 would be worth $30 to someone in the 10% tax bracket and $111 to someone in the 37% tax bracket”

You can deduct cash contributions made by check, credit card or debit card.

What if you give more money?

If you’re itemizing, you can take a bigger deduction for charitable contributions, including donations of clothing, cars, securities and bigger ticket items.

NOTE: Please review the link below for additional information and always consult a qualified Financial Advisor regarding filing your taxes.

The Advent Virus

Be on the alert for symptoms of inner Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. The hearts of a great many have already been exposed to this virus and it is possible that people everywhere could come down with it in epidemic proportions. This could pose a serious threat to what has, up to now, been a fairly stable condition of conflict in the world.

Some signs and symptoms of The Advent Virus:

  • A tendency to think and act spontaneously rather than on fears based on past experiences.
  • An unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment.
  • A loss of interest in judging other people.
  • A loss of interest in interpreting the actions of others.
  • A loss of interest in conflict.
  • A loss of the ability to worry. (This is a very serious symptom.)
  • Frequent, overwhelming episodes of appreciation.
  • Contented feelings of connectedness with others and nature.
  • Frequent attacks of smiling.
  • An increasing tendency to let things happen rather than make them happen.
  • An increased susceptibility to the love extended by others as well as the uncontrollable urge to extend it.

Please send this warning out to all your friends. This virus can and has affected many systems. Some systems have been completely cleaned out because of it.
