“Jesus – The Prince of Peace“

“Jesus – The Prince of Peace“

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Is 9:6)

John 14:27

The peace Christ gives is a settled sense of satisfaction in Him. It’s not dependent upon good conditions but on a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

1. Jesus secured our peace through His substitutionary death on the cross.

Romans 5:1, “Being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Justification means God no longer declares us guilty but now one of His children.

2. Jesus is the source of peace through our relationship with Him.

Prince of Peace:
The phrase literally means “the prince whose coming brings peace.”

3. Jesus is the sustainer of our peace through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful” (John 14:27).

Jesus is communicating  that he’s about to return to be with the Father in heaven but he’s going to leave the Holy Spirit to comfort and guide them.

Two verses to remember and claim whenever you face anything as a child of God.
If you’re not a Christian believer, it doesn’t work.

Romans 8:28,
“All things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.”

Ps. 103:19,
“The LORD has made the heavens his throne; from there he rules over everything.”
