“Keep Hope Alive”

“Keep Hope Alive”

“Keep Hope Alive”
John 4:1-42

Hope is a word of optimism, and it defines what we are living for.

Various life circumstances cause people to experience hopelessness.

This was the case for the Samaritan woman.
  • First, making wrong choices.
  • Second, repeated failure
  • Third, feeling trapped.
  • Finally, being isolated from one’s community.
But, a personal encounter with Jesus Christ radically changes people’s lives and KEEPS HOPE ALIVE.

To live better lives we must meet and follow people on a better path. Jesus is the way.

Jesus gives us HOPE.

As believers, we are called to pass the living water on to thirsty people who don’t know where to find it.

That’s what Living water is:  SALVATION from sin’s bondage and condemnation.

The Biblical way to change yourself is to – Substitute Good Habits for Bad Ones.

Our Scripture lesson is the simplicity of salvation.  In John 4:10 Jesus says,
“If you knew me…You would have asked and I would have given you living water.”

That’s all salvation is. It’s asking God to save you.

So, Hope is the thing that says…

“I don’t know how I’m gonna get through this,
I don’t know what’s gonna happen,
but I know the character of the God I serve.”
