“Secrets to God’s Blessings”
“Secrets to God’s Blessings”
Haggai 2:18-19
Definition: To bless means to transfer prosperity or happiness on to someone.
Illustration Prayer:
Dear Lord,
So far today, God, I’ve done all right. I haven’t gossiped, haven’t lost my temper, haven’t been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish, over-indulgent, coveted my neighbor’s spouse or taken your name in vain.
I’m very thankful for that. But, in a few minutes, God, I’m going to get out of bed. And from then on, everyone that I encounter will probably need a lot of help from you. Amen
“We all stumble in many ways” (James 3:2).
Haggai 2:19b
“‘From this day on I will bless you.’”
Two simple conclusions from this truth, “From this day on…”
In other words God is saying if you do this, I will do this…”
I. Blessings begin the moment we obey God.
Counting our blessings:
1. Blessings are missed because we fail to put God’s purpose, priorities and plans first.
2. Blessings are missed because people fail to remember God’s will, word and ways.
3. God’s blessings are missed because people procrastinate.
4. God’s blessings are often missed when people stir in their discouragements.
5. God’s blessings are often missed unless people gain supernatural perspective.
6. God’s blessings are often missed when people think the size of the work is too great.
7. God’s blessings are often missed when people lack patience.
8. God’s blessings are often missed when people look to other means for protection, progress and persuasions.
9. People miss out on God’s blessings when they think that some work is too small.
II. The 2nd truth is this:
If you follow my (God’s) instructions … The harvest will come eventually
