Reverend Shelby’s Bio
Reverend Shelby Wilson joined New Hope in January 2001. She began serving as a Sunday School teacher in Growing in Christ. Rev. Shelby has served on the Deaconess Ministry and as President of the Deaconess Ministry. Reverend Shelby has been involved in teaching Vacation Bible School. She has always had a passion for studying the Bible and making it simple for others to understand. In 2017 she accepted the call to become a minister and was licensed. In 2020, Shelby was ordained and took on the title of Reverend Shelby Wilson. During this time Rev. Shelby has continued to teach Sunday School and to develop others into teachers. Rev. Shelby writes a weekly Bible Study that is published on the New Hope Facebook page. Rev. Shelby develops the Call to Worship, Congregational Prayer Scripture, and Closing Prayer for each week’s service. Rev. Shelby was selected by Pastor Humes to be the Executive Pastor in 2024. In this capacity she continues to teach and serve. She works with the organizations to ensure compliance with New Hope’s procedures. Rev. Shelby is developing a “Standard Operating Procedure” for New Hope. God continues to use her in ministry. Rev. Shelby is compassionate about serving God and helping others to understand the word and to live by the word. Reverend Shelby is married and has 3 children and 10 grandchildren. She retired in 2024 after 43 years in the automotive industry, where she held many leadership positions.
