Dear New Hope Family and Friends,
As I reflect during this Christmas season my thoughts are steered toward this quote:
“What begins is a stable ends with our salvation.” That’s the best news about Christmas.
Jesus is with us. This is what our children really need to know. Christ is the missing piece to many of their vacant lives. Without Him our lives are incomplete. With Him our lives, even in their most complex or disappointing parts, make sense.
Jesus is with us! This is what our youth and college age young people need to know. In the middle of their trials, identity issues, betrayals by friends, struggles to find their way in the world, and dreams for a great future, the enthroned Christ of all Creation, is with them.
Our journey as a church continues and an exciting pilgrimage it is. And we are thankful to be on that journey with you. We thank God for you.
“I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life” (John 8:12). This is our gift. This is our Christmas. This is our “Hope” for every New Year.
Yours Warmly,
Pastor Virgil and Velicia (Lisa) Humes
