Pastor’s Prayer:
Dear Students, Families, Educators and Staff,
This is a year like none we have experienced before, especially when it comes to the start of a new school year.
Whichever way your school starts this academic year, there is probably some stress and worry associated with the change brought by thes. Let’s j COVID19 viruoin together and pray for students, educators and staff headed back to school.
We as families, churches, workplaces, communities and country, are all going through the same uncertainties together, so let us lift our voices and our hearts to God, asking Him for guidance in this troubled time.
Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the Peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Please recite this prayer and share it with others:
Heavenly Father,
This is the day you’ve made, we will rejoice and be glad in it. You are holy and sovereign. Even in the midst of this pandemic, you are in control, working all things to accomplish glory for your name, which is the greatest good for us.
Help us, Lord, to remember and know who you are and that we belong to you always. We ask for your mercy and for healing for this broken world.
We pray for a good start to grade school and collegiate education for all learners. We pray for self-discipline for the students who are using virtual classroom methods, as well as for the students going into classrooms. We pray for their health and for the right precautions to be taken to ensure their wellbeing.
Lord, as the school year begins, we pray for our teachers. They have to adjust and adapt to a new format of teaching that is unfamiliar and non-traditional. As they get exhausted and stressed, may you comfort them and assure them of your delight over them.
God, be with the various school districts’ administrations, staffs and volunteers. Give them wisdom and discernment to make decisions that will provide the best and safest learning environment for both teachers and students to thrive. Help us as the church, to be supportive and generous to those in need.
We lift up our families to you. They will have to figure out how to work and also supervise their kids learning at school, home or in hybrid fashion and provide social and emotional support for the students.
Father, we need your help. We continue to look to you in humble reliance. Lord, we pray for a vaccine that will heal our world from this pandemic. Help us to wait patiently and build us up in faith and obedience in these difficult times. Thank you that we can rest in your love and grace. Help us to live for your glory in this season.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
